Larry Merrill World Bank Two men sawing wood

The World Bank is a funding organization with 189 member countries whose goal is reducing poverty in the world. I photographed for the Bank in Bhutan, Haiti, Peru, and Senegal.

“In Haiti Merrill found great poverty.  The picture here of two men sawing at an enormous log in the street enlarges both what the street means in a place where public and private have no real determinate meaning if either is absolutely necessary to survival.”
